Your contribution will play a key role in securing our cloud environments, ensuring our systems remain resilient, scalable, and protected against emerging threats. As a Security Engineer, you will drive security initiatives, work closely with cross-functional teams, and enhance our infrastructure's security posture. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on security expert passionate about implementing cutting-edge security solutions in a dynamic, high-growth fintech environment.

The Security Engineer will focus on securing AWS cloud environments, infrastructure vulnerability management, and incident response. You will work closely with global security teams, ensuring robust security practices while collaborating with engineers and business units to align security measures with operational needs.

This role reports to the Senior Security Engineer Team Lead, based in Melbourne.

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Security: Secure cloud workloads, with a strong focus on AWS security best practices and tools
• Vulnerability Management: Implement security monitoring and vulnerability management solutions across infrastructure
• Incident Response: Participate in security incident response, identifying, investigating, and mitigating security events
• Security Monitoring: Optimize security detection and monitoring systems to proactively manage risks
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Work with engineering, product, and IT teams to integrate security best practices across the organization
  
  
  

About You

• Experience: Minimum 7 years in a similar security engineering role
• Technical Skills: Strong expertise in AWS security tools (Security Hub, Inspector, GuardDuty, Detective) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Incident Response: Hands-on experience managing security incidents, investigation, and remediation.
• Automation & Scripting: Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, or similar) for automation and security tooling
• Cloud Security: Deep understanding of securing cloud workloads, Kubernetes security knowledge is a plus
• Endpoint Security: Familiarity with CrowdStrike, Intune, or similar EDR solutions
• Certifications (Nice to Have): AWS Certified Security Specialty, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent security certifications
