The successful candidate will support Trumia’s growth strategy and be responsible to shape and drive the Institution’s sales and business development initiatives. The primary objective is to drive the company's revenue growth by being responsible for the sales team's overall performance and objectives.

The person should be excited by selling into new markets and sectors, strategizing next steps, negotiating deals and delivering exceptional value to our clients while maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance.

The chosen candidate will lead a team of Sales Executives and work closely with the CEO and other executives to develop and execute successful sales strategies, develop a sustainable growth strategy with the customer in mind.

Responsibilities:

  • Champion and Lead the Sales and Business Development efforts and activities at the Institution;
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including client acquisition, partnerships, and collaborations. Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients and partners;
  • Drive revenue growth through effective sales strategies. Meet and exceed sales targets, driving the sales team to ensure the successful conversion of leads into clients;
  • Work collaboratively across stakeholder teams - including with Operations, Product and Marketing teams;
  • Establish the inbound lead requirements needed to meet sales objectives;
  • Provide full visibility into the sales pipeline at every stage of development;
  • Establish and foster partnerships and relationships with key customers, partners and industry stakeholders to achieve desired brand growth and sustainable revenue generation;
  • Leading and motivating teams of Sales Representatives to develop customer relations, increase market share and sales revenue;
  • Collaborate with members of the Marketing team to penetrate key markets;
  • Direct the Sales team in generating proposals that define a clear path to client satisfaction and revenue growth;
  • Monitor changes in the industry and leverage them for business opportunities;
  • Outline objectives in key target areas such as sales volume, market share, distribution channels and profit margins to guide promotions and sponsorships.
  • Provide input on sales incentive structure and key performance indicators to help monitor targets;
  • Recommend changes in pricing structures in product lines or products;
  • Review sales performance by analysing performance reports.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience (minimum 8 years) in business development, sales, or a related role within the financial services or fintech industry;
  • Possess extensive knowledge of sales principles and practices, and an ability to coach others on them;
  • Deep commercial experience encompassing revenue and costs;
  • Results-oriented mindset with a track record of meeting and exceeding targets;
  • Strength in problem solving, issue-resolution, ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment, attention to detail, and ability to multitask;
  • Strong leadership and team building skills;
  • A demonstrated commitment to high professionnal ethical standards;
