Job Description

Role Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant – Reconciliation Officer with at least 2 years of experience in account reconciliations and hands-on expertise with the Methodos Reconciliation System (mandatory). The successful candidate will focus on reconciling Client Funds against various Payment Methods, ensuring financial integrity and compliance. This role also includes bookkeeping responsibilities to support the accounting team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of Client Funds vs Payment Methods (e.g., PSPs, banks, and other payment platforms).
  • Utilize the Methodos Reconciliation System for all reconciliation processes (mandatory requirement).
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between client deposits, withdrawals, and payment providers.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping records, including journal entries and general ledger updates.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure proper allocation of client funds and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare reconciliation reports highlighting outstanding items and potential issues.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in client funds reconciliations, specifically Client Funds vs Payment Methods (mandatory).
  • Proven expertise with the Methodos Reconciliation System (mandatory).
  • Solid knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting software (mention if your company uses specific tools).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently and within a team.
