Job Description

To strengthen its engineering team, NiM-Consulting is seeking to hire a full-time Field Project Engineer who will be responsible for the coordination and management of all activities, resources and systems during projects’ lifecycle with the purpose to deliver products and/or services that meet a customer’s specifications for scope, cost, deadlines and quality.

This position will offer the successful candidate the possibility to gain knowledge in technical matters (project management as well as the opportunity to build up relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

The main scope of the Field project Engineer is to monitor, control and validate the Civil Work on site (Civil Engineering, Structural work, finishing etc) and ensure the supervision of the whole integration of the customer’s system within the project (mechanical, electrical, automation, commissioning, etc…).

The Field Project Engineer is considered as the main interface between various parties involved in the project, so he/she is expected to act as a coordinator between the company, the customer and the various subcontractors working on site.

It is expected that Field Project Engineer proposes technical solutions and oversees operations on a day-to-day basis, ensures that the work is done in a safe manner, on time, within budget and to the right quality standards.

He/she supervises the work of all teams involved on site and participates directly in the work.

SPECIFIC KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES 

  • Prepare detailed installation plan and schedule and organize implementation of the plan.
  • Check, review and validate the client’s drawings and instructions.
  • Monitor the civil work progress, advise and support client and/or the subcontractors.
  • Effectively manage the installation phase by participating, directing and coordinating the activities and resources, setting priorities in respect of the project schedule, scope, budget and quality constraints.
  • Support the procurement activity for local sourcing (civil work, local manpower, handling tools, etc.).
  • Prepare all necessary permits for the projects i.e. site access, safety & health plans, etc.
  • Prepare and participate in the on-site acceptance tests.
  • Ensuring that all safety rules defined by the customer are respected and applied on site by all workers.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSABILITIES:

  • Responsible for the installation phase from preparation to closure phase (equipment installed, SAT passed, pending issues released or responsibility transferred to the client, track lessons learned).
  • Responsible for safety and radioprotection rules application on site, in compliance with customer’s standard, if defined. Conduct safety inspections and ensure construction and site safety.
  • Represent the Client and the Company in the customer relationship on site and promote the Company’s standards and work.
  • Effectively report to the Client the status of the installation, prepare and submit the site reports on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Ensure compliance with the Company’s standards, local rules, Company’s and Client’s policies for health, environment and safety.
  • Being Company’s representative on site and within the project, on site project engineer is expected to promote Company on site during installation, look for new opportunities as well as further development of relationships with the client and contractors working on the site, being involved in further development of the Company.

QUALIFICATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Technical / Engineering degree is required.
  • Experience in site management and special machine installation is preferred.
  • 2 years of similar experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge in mechanics, electricity, automation, civil works, IT solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
  • Perfect level of English is mandatory.
  • Good communicator and customer service skills, with ability to interface client and contractors.
  • Ability to travel, overtime and work hours other than Monday-Friday, when required.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and accountable individual.
  • Ability to manage multicultural workers in different countries, with different skills.
  • Able to plan work well, well-organized and responsible and decision maker.
  • Hard-worker and motivated by international experience.
  • Autonomous person able to work without close monitoring from management.
  • Strong attention to detail

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • The Field Project Engineer task is > 70% on site task.
  • Long period travel to be expected >70% of time.
  • Work from Home or at the Company Office when not on site.
