Senior Accountant

This role is about:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing departmental expenses, and supporting the month-end close process. This role includes preparing variance analysis, assisting with audits, and ensuring compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.

You will:

• Maintain and update accounting books and records daily, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial transactions
• Support the month-end closure of management accounts within strict monthly deadlines, ensuring all financial data is accurately reported
• Monitor departmental expenses to ensure they are in line with the budget, and provide recommendations for any necessary adjustments
• Assist with the preparation and coordination of annual internal and external audits, ensuring all required documentation is accurate and readily available
• Aid in the preparation and submission of regulatory reports, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and timelines
• Prepare monthly variance analysis to explain movements in management accounts, providing clear insights into financial performance
• Assist in meeting various management reporting requirements, delivering accurate and timely financial data to support decision-making
• Perform other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the supervisor, contributing to the overall success of the accounting department
• Identify and recommend process improvements to address control gaps, enhance efficiency, and ensure the robustness of accounting operations
  
  
  

What we need:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• ACCA/ ACA or equivalent professional certification is preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
