This role is about:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing departmental expenses, and supporting the month-end close process. This role includes preparing variance analysis, assisting with audits, and ensuring compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
You will:
Maintain and update accounting books and records daily, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial transactions
Support the month-end closure of management accounts within strict monthly deadlines, ensuring all financial data is accurately reported
Monitor departmental expenses to ensure they are in line with the budget, and provide recommendations for any necessary adjustments
Assist with the preparation and coordination of annual internal and external audits, ensuring all required documentation is accurate and readily available
Aid in the preparation and submission of regulatory reports, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and timelines
Prepare monthly variance analysis to explain movements in management accounts, providing clear insights into financial performance
Assist in meeting various management reporting requirements, delivering accurate and timely financial data to support decision-making
Perform other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the supervisor, contributing to the overall success of the accounting department
Identify and recommend process improvements to address control gaps, enhance efficiency, and ensure the robustness of accounting operations
What we need:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
ACCA/ ACA or equivalent professional certification is preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
